Stuart Montrose

 

1972

Stuart Montrose was called to the Bar in 1972. He was a tenant at Cloisters from 1973 until 2000, before becoming a tenant at Tooks Chambers in September 2000. A purely criminal specialist, his experience ranges from political cases of the 1970's such as the Shrewsbury pickets and Winchester bomb trial to cases of murder, drug trafficking, fraud, child abduction, rape, including the Oxford Army Officer's case and perverting the course of justice. Stuart has been instructed as a leading junior in a number of serious and complex trials including manslaughter, rape, robbery, counterfeiting, attempted murder, local government corruption, violence and public disorder, international conspiracies to import class A drugsand various frauds in cluding mortgage fraud and VAT fraud.
