Hannah Rought-Brooks

 

1999

Hannah Rought-Brooks specialises in the law relating to children, both private and public, and in human rights law. As a child lawyer she represents all parties in public law proceedings including care, supervision, secure accommodation, special guardianship and adoption. She has experience at all levels, often in cases involving allegations of serious physical abuse, including sexual abuse or where issues of mental health problems or substance abuse are involved. Hannah has extensive experience in other areas of public law concerning looked after children, homelessness and human rights.

She is committed to bringing a human rights approach to her work and has an LLM in International Human Rights Law and is a Visiting Fellow in the Law Department of South Bank University lecturing in International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law. She is a member of the Tooks International Law Team and has represented NGOs before the United Nations Treaty Bodies, including the UN Human Rights Committee and the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women.
