Court of Appeal Orders Examination of Documents in Kevin Lane’s Murder Appeal

The Court of Appeal has ordered the CCRC to examine the authenticity of documents at the centre of Kevin Lane’s appeal bid.

Joel Bennathan QC and Peter Wilcock represent Kevin Lane, who was jailed for life in 1996 for the execution style killing of Robert Magill.

Addressing the Appeal Court judges, Joel Bennathan QC said:
"Mr Lane is approaching his 17th year in custody. Depending on the outcome of this case, that is either his due, or a terrible wrong."
