Belfast Jury Acquits "Raytheon 9" of Attempting to Damage Arms Factory during Gaza Conflict

9 women accused of offences related to attempted damage to an arms factory in Derry during the Israel Gaza conflict have been acquitted by a jury in Belfast Crown Court.

The defendants argued that their actions had both a lawful excuse and was to prevent crime, namely the protection of property of civilians in Gaza and the prevention of war crimes being committed by the Israeli military during the Israeli assault on Gaza of 2008 and 2009.

Paul Troop acted as lead counsel for Julia Torrojo, David Heraghty was leading counsel for Goretti Horgan, who was also acquitted.
