Judgement of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in Prosecutor v Haradinaj et al

The Trial Chamber of the ICTY today handed down judgement in Prosecutor v Haradinaj et al. The Defendants included the former Prime Minister of Kosovo and other former members of the Kosovo Liberation Army who fought a guerilla war against the Serbs in Western Kosovo.
All three Defendants were jointly charged with 35 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Kosovo in 1998. The First and Second Defendants were acquitted of all counts, the Third Defendant was convicted of 2 counts and sentenced to 6 years of imprisonment.

Richard Harvey led Paul Troop representing the third Defendant, Lahi Brahimaj.
