Protecting tenants' rights and representing the homeless

Recent

Members of Tooks Chambers undertake all aspects of Housing Law and related Public Law matters.

These include:

  • Possession proceedings
  • Unlawful eviction
  • Homelessness
  • Allocations and Transfers
  • Harassment and Anti-social behaviour
  • Disrepair
  • Housing Benefit - including advice in cases where fraud prosecutions are pending
  • Community Care related housing matters
  • Representing Gypsies and Travellers in possession actions
  • Mortgage repossession actions
  • Injunction actions and emergency proceedings
  • Unlawful discrimination
  • Nuisance

In addition, members of the Housing team have experience of working with vulnerable groups that have particular problems accessing and maintaining accommodation, such as: ex-prisoners; young people; clients with physical disabilities and mental health problems; foreign nationals; Gypsies and Travellers.

All members regularly appear in the Appellate Courts, High Court, County Court and other courts and tribunals.
