Tooks has expertise at all levels of extradition law and the overlap with immigration, asylum and human rights including statutory appeals, applications for Habeas Corpus and cases heard in the Special Immigration Appeals Commission. The extradition team draws its expertise from across several practice groups. There is a strong presence amongst the Crime team of practitioners with extradition experience in a wide range of cases from European Arrest warrants to complex memorandum cases. The team also draws on the expertise of members of the Prison, Immigration and Public Law teams for those cases with human rights or terrorism dimensions and for appellate work. Members of Chambers have appeared in extradition cases at all levels up to and including the House of Lords. Tooks extradition lawyers also have experience of offering training and seminars to other practitioners on extradition law. Recent events include sessions conducted on behalf of the Immigration Law Practitioners Association (link to training materials).
