12-Month Pupillage

Tooks currently offers two 12-month pupillages through the OLPAS scheme

All 12 month pupillages are currently offered through the online pupillage portal system at www.pupillages.com unless an applicant has been deemed to be exempt from this process by virtue of having qualified via the qualified legal practitioner route rather than the Bar Vocational route.

Tooks offers two 12-month pupillages. We pay a pupillage grant of £18,500 in monthly instalments. You will regularly be in court during the second half of pupillage and will normally earn an additional £7,000 - £10,000. You will be entitled to keep all fees received. You will receive a monthly London travel card and Chambers will pay for any professional travel expenses outside London.

We consider applications for pupillage on merit alone. We look for exceptional applicants, who will be graded by reference to their academic achievements, advocacy skills and commitment to the Tooks ethos. We also provide for pupillage arrangements approved by the Bar Standards Board Qualifications Committee according to the Training Regulations in the case of applicants within the following categories: candidates with overseas legal practice qualifications; qualified solicitors in England and Wales; and Legal Academics.
