  • Saving Sanctuary – the last event at Warner Yard
    Thursday 6 May 2010
    Saving Sanctuary is an exhibition of photographs by Sarah Booker for the Citizens for Sanctuary Campaign. We are hosting the event to mark the end of our 25th anniversary year and our move to new premises at the end of May thus marking the end of one era for us and the beginning of the next phase in our history.

    Hugh Southey will be speaking at the Inquest Law Conference. The conference will provide a comprehensive analysis of the latest changes, including those introduced by the Coroners & Justice Act.

    The need for public inquiries in the absence of democratic accountability. On the proposed publication date for the Bloody Sunday report Michael Mansfield QC will discuss whether there are deficiencies in the system of democratic accountability and ask, what improvements can be made?

    Jane Russell will be speaking at the Labour Law 2010 Conference, a leading annual conference providing advanced analysis on key case law and legislation, organised by Butterworths.
  • Dinner in Aid of Amnesty International
    Tuesday 9 March 2010
    Michael Mansfield will host and speak at the dinner in aid of Amnesty International to be held at the Royal Society of Arts on the 9th March 2010
  • Equality and Human Rights Conference of the Northern Ireland Centre for Ethnic Minorities
    Friday 12 February 2010
    On the 12th February 2010 Sandhya Drew will be speaking in Belfast on recent judicial review caselaw at the Equality and Human Rights Conference of the Northern Ireland Centre for Ethnic Minorities.
  • 5th Kuttan Menon Memorial Lecture - Justice in a Cold Climate
    Monday 18 January 2010
    The 5th Kuttan Menon Memorial Lecture is being held at The Law Society on Monday 18th January 2010 . The lecture is held in association with Bindmans LLP. Beyond Guantanamo Bay will be introduced by Joel Bennathan QC . The speaker is Clive Stafford Smith, Director of Reprieve.

  • Legal Snapshots : Discrimination for Public Lawyers

    Discrimination arguments are increasingly being deployed against public authorities. This seminar will provide an overview of the relevant provisions with practical examples from recent judgements.
  • Race for Justice: Alienation or Social Inclusion?

    This international conference is organised by Napo and the Society of Black Lawyers and endorsed by the Attorney General Baroness Scotland. The conference is aimed at improving awareness of the causes of social exclusion and its manifestations.
