Tooks in association with APL present Discrimination and Children in the Criminal Justice System |

The seminar will cover the impact of the Equality Act 2010 on public law claims relating to the criminal justice system, and consider how recent developments in the law about children can be used in cases involving prisons, inquests, police and the CPS. Thursday 15th March 2012 at 6pm Speakers include: Catherine Rayner will summarise the Equality Act 2010. Sean Humber from Leigh Day will discuss disability discrimination. Adam Straw will discuss recent legal developments about children in the context of the police, CPS and prisons, including the recent cases of R (MP) v Secretary of State for Justice [2012] EWHC 214 (Admin), and R (T) v. Greater Manchester Police [2012] EWHC 147 (Admin). Felicity Williams will talk about how to use, and recent developments in, the equality duties.
